Co- Curricular Activities

I attained a A2 grade for my CCA. These are the ccas that I joined during my secondary school days.

Prefectorial Board:

I was a prefect in my secondary school and my duties included giving the morning announcments every morning assembly and patroling around to school to ensure discipline. My duties helpt me to build up my confidence especially while undertaking my morning announcments duty. Standing at the platform in front of the students, it built my confidence in public speaking and ensured that I would be able to curb any fear while making presentations.

Being a prefect also meant taking part in most of the activities the school organized such as the school open house, Chinese New Year celebrations, Teachers' Day celebrations, Mooncake festival etc. I was in charge of ushering the VIPs invited to draw the start of the events and being a tour guide for parents during the open house, explaining the facilities our school held and the various programmes offered in my school.

Being involved and in charge of such events, it enabled me to think on my feet to answer queries made by members of the public (the parents) and to handle unexpected hitches in events organized and making sure that everything still progresses smoothly.

I was also a peer leader to the newcomers of the school , the sec ones. This allowed me to enhance my leadership qualities as it opened a door for me as a student leader to be able to make a choice to execute my authority apporiately and ensuring that the students are well settled and comfortable.

As a prefect, teamwork was enforced as I had to work with other fellow prefects to ensure discipline in the school. Simple things such as assigning duties and patroling together would not have worked well if we did not work together in harmony.
These are some of the pictures I took with other student leaders during our school's Leaders' Day.

Librarian:

I was a libarian from secondary 2 to 4. My duties mainly included me updating the system to check if any students have outstanding fines from borrowing books that has crossed over the loan period. In addition, I was assigned to wrap books in plastic covers to prevent it from wrinkling, afterwhich I would record down the date of purchase and the genre and shelves the books are supposed to be allocated. Being a Librarian does not only mean that our duties was soley book-keeping we are also incharge of having ensuring the libary to be a condusive place to read and making sure the libary is clean from debris.

Chess Club:

I was a member of the chess club during secondary one and have particiapted in many tournaments such as the one held by Anglo Chinese School (Barker) and the Singapore Polytechnic Chess tournament in which I attained 2nd Runners-Up in the Lower Secondary International Chess Catogery. Chess is a silent game where it enables us to strategise quietly to conquer you opponent. It enabled me to be patient and think quietly whenever I am tackling a problem.

Now:

I am currently in Primers' Boys Brigade cca in Ngee Ann Polythenic.
